I just got this book, here's my $.02 worth:

"A good book for introductory use, but will be quickly outgrown.  It
does not stand well on it's own, but serves well as a 'companion'
volume.  Covers a lot of topics, but doesn't go very deeply into
many."

The book for users. Quicker and more convienient that the
book for TeXperts and TeXnitians, The LaTeX Companion.
Even better than the 1st edition.

In short, the book you want for nearly every normal problem
or question when you are writting a document using LaTeX.
